FASHION for winter/Autum

Looking at the top three known to me: Chanel, D&G & Burberry this morning to get the heads up on the new seasons looks.

But taking all this high fashion in I always have the repulsion of the fashion industry. All this money for clothes?>? There are so much more important things to spend money on. I'm sure if they didn't spend so much on the set up of their fashion events and spent more on the poor or disadvantaged in the world This world wont be such a cold horrible place for the needy where the rich get more self obsessed and more charity minded. I'm sure they have a business plan that says if they put on a great show they can sell more and give more. But I feel sick thinking about the greed of this too.

But the artist in myself looks at these shows and loves the ultimate expression of someone with an idea and creates a beautiful range. The power of creation speaks to me as an artists as important and has a place in the world to make this world a hopefull and beautiful place.

I don't quite know what to do with this but maybe if the creative expression was done in a cost effective and recycled way that gave the needy a hand up. And is there a way to do it that doesn't look junky? But I don't think that the higher end of fashion would ever through its self into this mode because it would take telling the rich not to be obsessed with them selves. Some would but I'd say most would not. Can you imagine Hollywood stars going down the redcarpet in anything less than brand spanking new??
I think in the beauty industry that some jump on the back of some causes for good but the leader is the body shop so I think that I might be becoming a body shop independent distributor. Wonder if anyone out there know what its like to do this...Most online say that it is hard to compete with the local shops. maybe a distributor of something you can't get anywhere else. paulas choice is one this I'd love to do but they don't have a local thing in australia.

Beauty Business

ok so I'm A beautician by trade but a mum by day....Trying to juggle both?? not even. Mummy hood has taken totally over as I just had my second Child. So beauty to take a back seat till later. Phew. I wonder if there are two more polar industries....??? Apparently this is a good industry to fit both in but I'm yet to see it happen. I hope to keep up my skills and grow them even though I'm at home but how? should i go into a business course from home? More money into an education that hasn't seen any "money IN" as yet.

On the other hand there has never been a better time to be skilled from home with the power of the internet and my sisters out there doing youtube are a great way to keep your mind beauty industry sharp. But watching is soooooo different from doing.

I'm wondering if I'm the only one doing this or is there others who have transitioned successfully without totally giving up being a stay at home mum??

Spring Jewellery

I've recently remembered how good Rose gold looks and now I'm wanting a rose gold jewellery piece for christmas so I thought I'd go searching....WELL look what I found!

This blog from September 2010 last spring for USA (& australias fashion predictor for our spring 2011) listing Rose gold in a romantic jewellery piece as a full on fashion trend. The ring on the middle finger is the Ariella Collection Open Work Ring, $58 But it is sold out everywhere (BOOHOO)

A great way to buy inbetween cheap and nasty jewellery chains (I used to be a fan and will still shop their but hate that they are totally destroyed by 1 month of use) and your high end jewellery shop is to look for someone advertising that the gold or rose gold has been ion plated or electroplated (onto silver). That way your buying real and nothing you might have a reaction to but at a price that it can afford to be a fashion piece not an investment.

Rose gold BTW is a alloy of gold and copper. The more copper the more red it becomes.

Heres whats out there for under $50 that is so worth the look:

Whow! long time no type!

Well I think you can tell that I took along time to blog. But her is what you missed.

-Cut my hair short....Now I want long hair. SO WHAT EVERYONE DOES

-Its Been the longest winter EVER Cause of the floods and then constant rain since then LOL
Which means fashion stores have been totally off! So fashion shopping has been a drag! But today is the first real not cold day! and its acctually flipped right over and its HOT outside!
So fashion will be blooming now

- I surcumed to Jeggings But only cause I found a more Jean than leggings Kind at Supre and cause I'm currently pregnant. I paired it with Khaki overside thin jumper that slouches nicely and I feel really good in it with my Faux Military boots (much more feminie version)

-Hair revolution: I can't use any straightners or blowdryers or I have to cut off 2 inches at the hair dressers. I"M 100% sure now! Thanks to Youtuber tutorial I found! I have taken a vow of no heat. My hair has been styling so far but its hard not to cut my hair but I just spend a 30 deep condition when i feel the urge and it restores it enough to push it back a bit.

- I'm scrapping my memories and having a really amazing time doing that as a totally lame but relaxing past time.

-I'm currently auditing my beauty routine to see how cheap can I go with it? I have the Don't go to the cosmetics counter with out me by Paula Begoun and I'm using it to find the cheapest version that (I can accept) of every item that I consider ESSENTIAL.
I consider these items to be Cleanser, liquid exfoliant, Day Moisturizer with SPF15, Night Moisturizer, MASK, Liquid Foundation, Eyeshadow, Mascara, Blush, Lip Product

-I graduated my Beauty Course and I'm now working part time at a skin care counter.

-I'm astounded at how many people are talking about Revlon ColourBurst Lipstick in Nude and Laurer Mercier Silk Creme Foundation cause it works for slightly oily or slightly dry skin. I'm so wanting to buy them but doing my beauty audit :(

-Loving Dry skin moisturizers cause of the extended cold season: QV Body Cream, The Body Shop Shea Butter shower Gel & Butter, PawPaw Products that my mum is trying are LUCIOUS

we'll see where I'm at when I next blog!
