Fashion Plug

Today I'm looking at this style of fashion that I always seem to love (not photos above) but never seem to be able to buy it for myself....Then it dawns on me when I'm in the store surounded by the style i'm talking about I don't buy it....why is that? Cost? Maybe....

Then it dawns on me...it doesn't suit me! I've been trying to obtain something that I though was a style sense but turns out its the colours that get in my way. I've only come to this realisation after previously reading Colour me Confident recently re released under another name I think.
But this wasn't the crazy book that came out in the 1980's colour me beautiful.
It helps reviel the top complimentary colours for 6 different skin eye and hair coloured peoples groups. They have one for me finally! In the 1980s on it was all funny not really a practical guide. But this one feels more like what a personal stylists does already on all their clients; Pick colours that really bring out the persons features not look like the clothes are wearing them. I have to testify that it is absolutley true, some colours you can wear with no aided makeup hairstyling etc and you'll look vibrant while others may get you mistakenly taken to the morge (or the nut house). In your teens and twenties it is accepted to make fashion mistakes that could be mistaken for a costume or worse. SEE PHOTOS ABOVE

But I'm hearing more and more that by the 25 comes around that you really need to look like you have sense otherwise people start second guessing your sanity. In some way you'll need some togetherness about yourself.
But as an adult we really dont live our lives around the actions and reactions of others. However, I'm not going to be first in line to jump on trying to prove that I lack the maturity to start to follow my own fashion sense instead of other peoples.
I encourage you stop looking in the mags for your style but find out your own first then shop with that knowledge.

Summer in July???

Hey,
Well the AU conversion is coming into play here! I'm seeing a lot of fake tan recommendations but its the dead of winter here reaching the top of 19degrees c in my house after lots of heating. So really cold.
But cause I'm seeing alot of talk about tanners I went off and rediscovered my self tanning lotions to get myself out of that winter funk you can get in.
Oftern we cover up so heavily then when summer comes around its a big shock on the OH I have to get into shorter clothes! eek!

But Not this year I'm going to do gradual ease back into spring/summer while keeping myself hydrated with more lotion ones. So recommendations:
Gradual tanners:
: ( Johnsons holiday skin - Used it but the smell made me switch to Dove, I think it was too streaky when i applied it but might have been something I'd done. I havn't used this since last summer or the one before that.
: ) Loreal NutriSummer Face- I've used this and it is really gradual and nice moisturizing. Great for building it up everyday into a faint glow. Definitely not going to give you that deep bronze ever I think.
:I Dove Summer Boday- I like this one and use it but I have found it went streaky
:D Clinique Self sun Body Daily Moisturizer - Love this beautiful smell perfect for deep moisture in winter hehehe.
:I Dove Summer Glow Daily Facial Moisturizer- Great clear application with a mild gradual tan but I suspect it is too oily for my skin and caused alot of breakouts.

Instant full strength tanners: always be diligent to use glove or applicator

:( Ambre Solaire No streaks Spray Tan - REALLY strong alcohol on the skin, I often came up in sore spots on the lovehandles(must be sensitive their). But really great for application.
:I Fake Bake- really enjoyed this one in the mouse. I found it not moisturizing though for those dry skinned out there.
:( BYS Island Bronze Pro Tanning lotion - Bad streaking with this one. If you leave a line you'll never know cause its applies clear. Will leave you read faced with some of the lines it shows up! I'm mixing it in with my other Clinique Self SUn to get some use out of it with out the risk.

Over all I have to find a full strength tanner for summer that isn't in salon:

BTW here are the tried and tested salons:
:D Leigh Bird Greenslopes, Tuscan Tan- Love it does it for cheap, but a lady sprays it on you so you have to be up for a bit of an up close and personal treatment.
:D

Future trying may involve:
http://www.perfectiontanningstudios.com.au/ boast a $25 spray tan in clayfield, brisbane AU

Tantric (Stand up, Lay Down & spray on): Often have summer specials on their spray on tan booths 'Magic Tan' LOVE this one I got really addicted to it for some time since the early 2004. Level 1, 202 Elizabeth st, Brisbane CBD.

St Tropez Still havn't tried this.... :S cant believe it. But the price makes me believe it!
Cant remember if i've used thee Tan Line range....I feel like I have it its good..... OH I did and I loved it BUT $30 and it ran out after 2 applications....Only good for a one off event I'd say
Jungle Bronze I'm so temped everytime I see it but.... Bit scary to look like a wild animal.LOL
Elle Mcpherson the body
Xen-Tan- which is flooding the market at the moment. Will it be good Who knows.

Not going to try Model Co, Bloom (saw a bad review on these which were so scary I'm too worried to try them)

Well Hoping that your own effort dont end up orange or streaky but if they do trying tanners in winter always have the advantage of being easily and most likely covered up.

BEST WINTER skin saver!

So winter is dry skin for everyone. SOme people ignore while some have dry skin already it can become painful when the skin on knuckles crack or knees etc. Plus Crocodile is not a beauty look.

SO, SHOCKERS of beauty products

Aveeno Skin Relief with Menthol (Got given it and I was put off by the menthol and the thickness idea. BUT IT REVERSED all signs of aging on my mums body where shed been using it!!!!!!!!! "Stop pay too much!!!!!" LOL (add for something else & seemed to apply here) BUT SERIOUSLY the Cosmetics Cop would be proud of me! I'm going to go bathe in it for the rest of winter

NOW the other problem with the drying factor is not just wind protection and moisture renewal BUT not stripping off the natural oils when you bath. (That may be a HUGE contributing factor for you). Normal ones to recommend are pharmacy brands QV or Cetaphil for NON soap PH balanced NOT OVERLY FOAMING but Glycerine Based Washes. Dont believe the supermarket brand washes saying non drying! If it foams it dries!

SHOCKER #2
Aromababy Pure Baby Wash. I bathed my son in it and MAN I was so in love with it! I want it! THink about it this way "soft as a babies bottom?" Sound like something you want? Well this is SO GENTLE on your moisture levels its made for Premi Babies and newbornes! Well that means your not gonna get your Dishwahsing liquid that you usually get from those "Moisturising" shower Gels that foam and strip oils.

Weird: OILS??? Not sure if they work like the aveeno but shower oils in pharmacies are super softening and wash the excess off. But theres always a risk of slipping in an oily shower EEK>>>!
Pure Coconut oil to rub all over or Almond OIL or Best smelling but V.Moisturizing only for people not prone to acne is Apricot OIL. All found at your local health supply/food store.
I'm GOing to go get moisturising!

EYE Primers......?????

Wondering about primers today......I'm going to be receiving Mac from my friend who traveled to USA recentely. (get it so much cheaper directely)

Which ones are the best?
Two faced shadow insurance? NYX? MAC paint pot or eye primer? ELF? Lemon Aid Color Correcting Eyelid Primer by Benefit? Mirenesse sexy secret eye primer? Benefit F.Y...Eye Nude Primer? bareMinerals prime time eyelid primer ? Napoleon Perdis Eye Spy Eye Cream and Primer (7215) ? Mary Kay eye primer? BeeLuscious? TOO MUCH CHOICE!! Well I'm guessing there are two kinds of primers ones for everyday shadow application and stickier ones for heavy application of glitter or what ever. I'll re blog when I've tried the MAC paint pot by the end of the month!!
